Re: Is anyone role playing?

In the meantime I've spent probably $500 on dice anyway because.... I'm clearly insane. Unless the price of dice has skyrocketed since I last played, that's a lot of dice! :bleek: Though I last played back in the late 80s, so inflation may have done its nasty on the price of that particular commodi...

Admin Post... Gazomg's post is okay. He and I evidently posted around the same time. My admonition on further posting on this discussion remains. The thread topic "Star Trek Discovery - Season 2" may continue as long as it doesn't engage on the contentious discussion prior to this. Any questions, p...

Re: Star Trek Discovery - Season 2

Gentlemen ... I think you've had your say. I can see both sides, here. Michael, I wager, is nearing the point where he'll be forced to lay the smack down and issue warnings. Let's give him a pleasant surprise and just ... walk away. A very wise suggestion. Sirus , The last thing I ever want on STPM...

Re: Star Trek Discovery - Season 2

Long story short, all the best Starfleet officers are Lawful Good and if you can't see a Paladin doing it, your main character/CO sure as fuck shouldn't. I can't see a Paladin saying this or doing the actions described: (Sisko from "In the Pale Moonlight") So… I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cov...

Re: Star Trek Discovery - Season 2

Star Trek is the show where sometimes you beat the enemy by finding out their scheme and then beaming all the pesky little tribbles onto their ship before they jump into warp and sometimes you have to dance with the devil by the pale moonlight to do it. Either way, it is in service to the better na...

Re: Prime Timeline isn't part of the Original Cannon?

I don't understand why anyone thinks a conspiracy is necessary, though. CBS owns this shit. They can do whatever they want ... and they're going to do whatever they judge will maximize profits. I agree. In the end, that's what will drive what they do with the show. I suspect they saw Netflix pour a...

Re: Star Trek Discovery - Season 2

Stories change and the way we tell them changes. And that is a good thing. It doesn't mean ANY of them were wrong or bad. It just means things changed. It doesn't say anything bad about the audience, either. Because the world changes. I agree. Discovery is Modern Trek for a Modern World. Exactly.

Re: Prime Timeline isn't part of the Original Cannon?

I watched the second video. The first one seemed it was going deep into the weeds of contracts, rumor, and assumption, so I gave up on it part way through. Frankly, the guy's argument strikes me as less than compelling. He bases it (as he admits) on rumor, and then goes down a rabbit hole, weaving a...

Re: Star Trek Discovery - Season 2

Wait until you see the second episode of season two, Michael. It felt like a classic episode in my opinion. I had the same reaction, cap . I watched the second episode of season two and thought it even better than the first. Also, I have now watched all of season one. My quick review is: I love thi...
