I'd love to join in, but I can't afford the subscription.

You should be able to get a 30 or 60 day time card, which lets you play for 30 or 60 days of real time

It comes with a free 30 day trial if you just wanted to try it out.

Or one of us could send you a 5-day buddy code.

How did you get those shots of your in the command chair, and over the science officer's shoulder, and the face palm and vulcan salute?

That's not me in the command chair. I took that one during the tutorial mission. I'm the one standing on the captain's right but you can take screens of yourself in the chair if you stand on it and use the different 'sit' emotes.
Example: When my crew and I took over a Klingon ship:
If you look at your chat bar in the game there's a little icon. If you click it you can view a list of possible emotes. If you get creative with your camera angles you can mimic all sorts of situations with them. The toughest one I did you can see in my avatar where I made it appear that I'm attempting to kiss my first officer. I can't list them off the top of my head but for example "/em prosper" makes you do the Vulcan greeting.

Ond day I logged on to find all the NPCs slightly displaced. Officers were standing on tables, walking into walls, and generally acting a little nutty. Had to take a screenshot.

No, thanks. Like I said, I just can't afford the subscription fees, and I know I'd want to play it on a regular basis.

John,
Let me know if you ever change your mind. To be honest if I weren't such a huge Trek fan I probably wouldn't play it. As MMOs go it falls a little short in certain areas. But since I am a huge Trek fan I enjoy the ever loving crap out of it.

Those are all great screenshots
I've been trying to work out, is it possible to visit Betazed, or go through the wormhole near DS9? I saw Betazed on the map, and wanted to visit it

I haven't tried to visit Betazed yet. I've been to the surface of Risa, Vulcan, and Andoria though. Andoria seems to simply be a place where you can freely duel other players and Vulcan... well, I'm not sure about Vulcan. There was no one else there when I went. I think a lot of people don't even realize you can visit some planets. Nothing in the game suggests that you can unless you just try to fly into the planet with your ship. That's how I found out. I wanted to see if I could crash.
While the wormhole does open up every few minutes, you can't actually enter it. Or if you can, I haven't figured out how. But I really wanted a screen of my ship coming out of it so I waited for it to open up and flew away from it at full impulse.
